New Year's Eve....

We had a pretty good day today. We're kind of major homebodies, more so then before Trapper was deployed. Around this base (Fort Carson) we don't much like the area. More violence then we are used to especially from gang members towards soldiers. So it's rare that we leave the post much unless it's to go to PetSmart or Wal-Mart which are just 5 minutes out of the gate. But today we decided we wanted to get out of the house. Original plan was to go check out this huge electronics type store or alteast that's what someone told Trapper what it was. But when we got their it is actually a store with new and used video games for any console game you can think of, new and used movies on dvd and blue-ray, game systems, and a big section for any poster you can think of and  for rather cheap prices. It was a pretty cool store.

Then we decided to go to this hobby store that was just down the road that we saw. Had some rather neat stuff in it, plane and car models you can build, train set stuff, stuff to make Warhammer army's, all kinds of stuff. Kind of like a Hobby Lobby but a little smaller. After that we went and ate at Country Buffet and omg was it good. We all stuffed ourselves and believe it or not me and Kenz ate more then Trap did lol. Then we decided to go to the mall that was right across the street. Walked around there for a bit, check out a few stores and of course Kenzie had to go into the pet store lol. After that we came home, were gone most of the day which is rare for Trapper to want to do so it was really nice. I don't think he got anxious once which sometimes he does if there's to many people or to much traffic.

Now Trapper is playin some World of Warcraft (I was but am a little tired so I logged off). I'm gonna see if Netflix has any new instant movies to watch, if not I'm gonna find a movie to watch with Kenz, drink a wine cooler or 2 and snack on some chips.

Hope everyone has a wonderful and safe New Year's Eve!

Random Thoughts

Well I am trying to wrap up the paperwork needed by my school to start my 2nd Associates Degree in Medical Administration, which starts next week. I just need to get a few things faxed off and I am set to go on Jan. 4th. Hoping my school sends my paper that says I graduated with my A.A.S. in Medical Transcription soon so I can really feel like I'm a college graduate lol. It just doesn't quite feel real yet and I think that's because I didn't really have a graduation ceremony and I haven't received my degree paper that says I graduated. Hopefully soon.

We had a pretty good Christmas break so far. Kenzie especially loves her Nintendo DS she got from my dad and stepmom. She also got a acrylic paint set and these building your own build-a-bears that my parents sent her also. She's made one of the build-a-bears so far and Skittles almost chewed off one of its ears already but Kenzie caught her in time lol, damned dog lol.

We went and finally got Little Big Planet to play on her PS3 a few days. That game is beyond freakin hilarious to play on 2 player. I like to play it myself but when you play 2 player its freakin hilarious cause you have to work as a team and then the game says some pretty funny stuff. We've played that alot that past few days lol. Great family game.

Nothing else exciting. Trapper went back to work today. He only has half-days today and tomorrow and gets a 4-day weekend after he just got off like a week vaca lol. Played lots of World of Warcraft, took the tree down after Christmas, made Christmas cookies that are pretty much gone. About it, haven't done a whole ton the past week. We can't leave Colorado until we go home in February after Trapper's medboard process is done. He's being medically retired from the Army due to injuries he sustained while deployed a year and half ago.

But that's it for today. Thank you for reading.

Holiday Blues

I think the last few days I've been kind of cranky because it really makes me sad to miss yet another year of holidays with our families. I'm not upset by the fact that we can't afford this much this year, Christmas isn't about presents anyways. To me, it's about being with family, going and visiting families houses or family coming to visit my house, having a nice dinner and yah a few presents for the kiddies. I don't want to say it sucks cause I do have Kenzie and Trapper and our pets lol but I just really miss my family and it makes me sad to read all these wonderful plans family members are planning on doing. To include the party my parents have every Christmas eve. Granted I can't attend that every year since we will be in Oregon and they live in Minnesota but it's been soooooooo long since I was at one of their parties. Some family I haven't seen in years, some have never even met my husband or his two little girls. I'm trying really hard to snap out of it cause Kenzie's birthday is tomorrow and we have a full day planned of baking and watching J.I. Joe lol. I'm gonna try but I'm just really sad we can't spend it with more family. Trapper keeps telling me it's okay cause we have each other and I know that but it still doesn't change the fact that we can't go visit family and have his daughters with us during the holidays. But for Kenzie and Trapper I'm gonna try really hard not to be to sad the rest of the week.

Excited....maybe......I guess lol

I graduated with my Associates in Medical Transcription yesterday (Dec 20th) and I'm like, yah okay cool I finally finished. I'm not every sure why I'm not as excited as one would think I would be. It's wierd and I can't figure it out. I am very proud of myself but I'm like okay yah I got a degree, now what. I can't really use it at the moment because of Trapper's pending med board process but that's okay. I'm going to start on a new Associates in Medical Administration starting on Jan 4th. As if the first degree wasn't enough right lol. Maybe it'll be more real once I get my degree from the college, that's supposed to take a few weeks they said. I just don't see why I'm not more excited, it's beyond me, been trying to figure that out for last few weeks lol. I'm almost a bit more excited to start my 2nd degree then I am about the fact that I just graduated with a degree already, go figure.

Thursday

Well today is the time I finish up 2 reports and I am officially done with my classes. Wait, add 1 test to that and them I'm done and I will get my degree next week. I also have been talking to my admission counselor and I am starting a new degree the first week of January for an Associates in Medical Administration. Some might think I'm nuts but I am loving taking online classes and learning more about the medical field plus I think it'll give me more of an edge when applying for jobs. I'm pretty excited about it anyways and Trapper is behind me all the way, in a supportive way not in the way that some perverts are probably thinking right now as they read this, shame on you!! lol.

On another note, I am really going to miss being a Army wife when we arent in the military anymore come February. I really can't stand Colorado Springs or Fort Carson but I am going to miss driving around and seeing all the soldiers going about their business and seeing Army vehicles driving around post going to do some training of sorts, and I'm especially going to miss seeing Trapper in his ACU's. I won't miss washing them though, stupid velcro pockets lol. But I must say although I'll miss it, I am very, very glad to be going home soon. I miss our families more then I'll miss being here at Fort Carson. It's not as easy as people think to be a military spouse or even to be a soldier. Some people have a warped sense of what they think military spouses and soldiers go thru and they shouldn't talk until they've walked a mile in their shoes. It's  not an easy life but I wouldn't trade our experience or Trappers experience. He's very, very proud of what he did over thier when he was deployed. He will tell you hands down, that he would do it all over again. He tells me all the time that he saved lives and he knows he made a difference when he was over there and seeing as he's being medical retired cause of being over there I really can't ask more of him then to always be proud of himself for what he had to sacrifice and for how proud of himself that he is. I don't like that he got hurt and that he's still hurting but he looks at is as he's one of the lucky ones, that he got to come home in one piece to his family. My husband is and should be an inspiration to people. He went thru hell over there but he somehow through everything he's went thru and what he will always go thru the rest of his life he STILL has a positive outlook on life that just continuously surprises the hell outta me.

Now I gotta get started on those reports and test.

Fixed

I was able to get everything taken care of to be able to pursue another degree after I graduate next week. I was able to find out that I can pursue and Associates Degree in Medical Administration, hopefully starting in January. Good thing about is that I will only have to take about 2 semesters at the most to get my 2nd degree seeing as I have taking alot of the required classes already while getting my Medical Transcription degree. So  hopefully I can start that in January. Just one more thing to help me stand out when employers are looking thru resumes.

Pissed Off but Cooling Down (venting helps alot)

I graduate this week with my Associates in Medical Transcription. I have loved taking online classes for the past two years, I am very much enjoying learning and being a student. I really want to continue my education and go for a 2nd degree in Billing and Coding. It's going to help me that much more in the long run and add something else to my resume.

Well I've been trying to contact I don't know how many people over the past month and not a damned one of them can send me an e-mail back with the information I need or atleast send me to the right person to ask about starting a new degree. It's fucken irritating. You would think they would want to help someone that wants to continue their education but maybe online students don't matter, I don't know, but someone needs to get off their ass and atleast point me in the right direction otherwise I'm just going to go to another college that will help me out. Just freakin irritating as shit.

Then on top of that I can't really get the things I want to for Kenzie for Christmas and her birthday which are two days apart. I know Christmas isn't about the presents really and I think we can do just fine with getting a few presents for her birthday and some for Christmas. Nothing we get is gonna compare to the fact that my dad and stepmom got her a Nintendo DS for Christmas so not wanting to go all out anyways lol. Since it sounds like they got her a bunch of things off her Christmas list, I think I will stick to gettin her the boring things like a couple outfits (cause Lord knows she's harder on her jeans then most little boys her age lol) and get her a bunch of books to start her a new library in her room cause her dog chewed up a bunch of them. She needs more books her reading level anyways. She happens to be an excellant reader and speller so I think that's what I'll do. Not the most exciting presents but I think she'll like it. There is one game I want to get for her that goes to the DS. Trapper also wants to get the dogs and the cat their own stockings, says they are apart of the family to so they deserver a stocking also lol. That's Kenzie's biggest favorite about Christmas is her stocking, not sure why but that's her favorite part. I'm also going to buy baking goods to make about 7 different types of Christmas cookies and have Kenzie help. Try to show her that the holiday season isn't just about presents, probably won't work but it can't hurt to try lol.

Monday Evening

Well today I got a few things accomplished. Vaccummed up all the damned dirt clumps that dogs have been dragging in last few days cause the snow melted. Did dishes and cleaned a few other areas around the house and of course, fed our Christmas tree some water :)

I then went on to complete 2 of my 4 classes today, this is my last week of school before I graduate with my Associates degree in Medical Transcription. I also tried to submit my resume to a few places. I haven't had much luck in that area. It's kind of hard to plan for a job when we are moving back to Dallas, Oregon sometime in February as soon as my husband is done with his med board process to be medically retired from the Army. Yay we get to go home!!!! Been waiting the better part of a year and half to go home. So with that it's kind of hard to job hunt. I am still looking though, just wish some would give me a chance to get some experience, which I very much need. I may have to do an internship, who knows.

Last week I also sent off 2 different apps to be a volunteer at a dog shelter and a cat shelter when we get home. I can't wait to do that, something I've always wanted to do. Trapper hopes I won't keep any cause I plan to be a foster home at some point for injured animals that need a temporary home at some point. That'll be after we've been in Dallas for like 6 months to a year first.

So yah, that's about it for tonight. A little start to what I know will become an addiction to blogging, even if only 1 person reads it, it's almost comforting to just be able to type out what I want to share with people.
